¿Obviedad musical?

Ejemplo:

The New York Dolls, Blondie…)

(The Blondes of the North) play boleros, cha cha cha, cumbias, Huaynos, lieder, and cowboy songs. Fronted by classically trained singers Allyssa Lamb and Emily Hurst, the band mixes musicians from the US, France and Colombia who all look back to the latin motherland most of them never had. Their first release, Rumba Internationale (Barbes records), features songs written by Margarita Lecuona (of Tabu and Babalu fame), W.A. Mozart and The Sons of the Pioneers, as well as selections previously interpreted (or "borrowed") by artists as varied as Nat King Cole, Los Panchos, Edith Piaf, and Abba. Their new album Panamericana draws its inspiration from all across the Americas, and plays like a dreamy soundtrack where cha-cha-cha and boleros mix with classical harmonies and cowboy music. The result is a collection of thirteen songs, each of which is a "sparkling gem (The New Yorker.)

Songs for Ice Cream Trucks:

Are you tired of hearing the same old two or three ice cream truck songs over and over? Michael Hearst certainly is. That's why he's creating an entire album of NEW songs for ice cream trucks. Upon completion of the album, Michael will tour in an actual ice cream truck, playing his songs over the loudspeaker, and well... selling ice cream! Michael Hearst grew up in Virginia Beach, VA. After eating lots of ice cream, he moved to Richmond, VA and earned a degree in music composition from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has been a founding member of the bands Schwa, Fashion Central, Maud Gonne, Anon, and One Ring Zero. Hearst also established Urban Geek Studios, where he has produced, recorded, eaten ice cream with, and worked on post production for a number of bands and projects including Drunk, Guided By Voices, Kansas, The Griefbirds, and The Blasco Ballroom. He has given lectures at Tufts University, The San Francisco Art Institute, and taught at Virginia Commonwealth University; but unfortunately, all of the classes and lectures have been about music, not ice cream.

One Ring Zero:

One Ring Zero is Michael Hearst and Joshua Camp. The Brooklyn-based duo has released five CDs, including their critically acclaimed album, As Smart As We Are, a book-cum-CD, featuring songs with lyrics contributed by such authors as Jonathan Lethem, Margaret Atwood, Paul Auster, Dave Eggers, A.M. Homes, Rick Moody, Neil Gaiman, Myla Goldberg and Denis Johnson. One Ring Zero has performed at music venues and cultural institutions including the Whitney Museum of Art, Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park, Central Park Summer Stage, Book Expo America in Chicago, New Morning in Paris, the Calgary Folk Festival, and Toronto's Harbourfront Centre. One Ring Zero has received grants from The Virginia commission for the Arts and The National Endowment for the Arts. The music has been featured in dance concerts, films and animations, fashion shows, and NPR programming including This American Life, Fresh Air, and The Next Big Thing.

Chicha Libre:

CHICHA is the name of a corn-based liquor favored by the Incas in pre-colombian days. Chicha is also the name of a South American music craze which started out in the late 70's in the Peruvian Amazon. Cumbias amazonicas, as they were first called, were loosely inspired by Colombian accordion-driven cumbias but soon incorporated the distinctive sounds of Andean melodies, some Cuban son, and the psychedelic sounds of surf guitars, farfisa organs and moog synthesizers. The group, which has also been known to perform under the name "Cumbia my Lord" draws its personnel from barbes regulars Bebe Eiffel and Las Rubias del norte.

HAZMAT MODINE:

Plays the kind of Blues one might have found in a whorehouse in New Orleans had the city been built on the Black Sea somewhere alongside Macao and inhabited by Gypsies. The band is driven by a pair of dueling harmonicas, backed by Tuba, drums guitars, and Trumpet with the addition of special guests playing exotic instruments such as the Claviola, the Cymbalum or the Chinese mouth-organ, the Bass Sax and the Normaphone. Frontman Wade Schuman, has the appropriately throaty voice of someone who has both hopped freight trains and collaborated with the Throat Singers of Tuva (really...). In addition to his own material the band cover tunes by Slim Gaillard, Jimmy Rogers, Jaybird Coleman, and Irving Berlin. ~ Barbes Records
